Keep Bright Data for managed breadth
Stay when the job benefits from a mature mix of proxy networks, Web Unlocker, Browser API or a selectable hosted or self-hosted MCP surface. Price the exact product and check account controls before moving.
Compare residential pricing, sessions and managed tools. Start with the route your application needs, then compare all three on the same workload.
Residential pay as you go, with managed tools available separately.
Monthly residential packages, with separate managed collection APIs.
Non-expiring residential traffic for your own HTTP client or browser.
Set your traffic and acceptance rate.

Hold the workload constant and compare the decision field that can change your bill or your team's work.

Stay when Web Unblocker or a result-oriented Oxylabs product removes work your team does not want to own. Its Web Unblocker can render JavaScript, while Web Scraper API and MCP use separate product credentials.
Test ProxyLane when the required deliverable is a permitted page response from your existing HTTP client or browser and managed extraction would add a product layer you do not need.
Compare a measured workload against ProxyLane's non-expiring traffic when monthly allowances, recharge settings or managed credits make idle months expensive for your team.
Bright Data's Proxy and IP Rotation Control documents a five-minute idle boundary. Keep the session identifier, targeting parameters and caller region consistent. By default an unavailable peer is replaced; the const option makes the request fail with HTTP 502 instead. Oxylabs Session Control documents a 10-minute default that ends after 60 seconds idle, whichever comes first. Its sesstime parameter allows up to 1,440 minutes, but peers can leave sooner and requests can outlast the session.
Bright Data's pricing FAQ says active monthly commitments renew on the first of the month and unused commitment does not roll over. PAYG has no monthly commitment; check auto-recharge separately. Oxylabs Starter is billed monthly; cancel through Manage subscription to stop the next period. Billing & Subscriptions says access continues until the current period ends. The reviewed billing page does not establish unused-GB rollover, so obtain that term before valuing an idle balance.
The current Bright Data residential page shows $8/GB for pay as you go, a displayed $4/GB coupon and no commitment. Oxylabs lists a 5 GB Starter plan at $30 billed monthly, or $6/GB, with VAT potentially applying. Those entry points describe different purchase conditions. Add request and response bytes, page assets, retries, session recovery and any managed product credits before calling one route cheaper.
Run the same permitted URLs with identical geography and session policy. Define accepted fields and final URL before testing. Count access failures separately from malformed records, then divide total cost by accepted records.
ProxyLane fits the raw-network case. Its current offer includes non-expiring residential traffic, country, region, city, ZIP, ISP and ASN targeting, HTTP and SOCKS5, and rotating or sticky sessions. Residential traffic starts from $2/GB. See the pricing page for package details. Account creation is free, and MCP terms are handled separately. Treat these as the offer to validate against your measured cost per valid response, not as a performance claim.
Use a reversible sample and preserve the acceptance rule that made the current route useful.
Select a small permitted URL set or one browser sequence based on your own budget. Set maximum pages, concurrency, spend and bytes before running; these are your pilot caps, not vendor limits. Include retries and assets.
Save the incumbent host, port, protocol, username/session parameters and secret reference as a rollback configuration. Install candidate credentials in the same client; verify its chosen HTTP or SOCKS5 authentication, HTTPS request and expected exit geography without logging passwords.
Run the unchanged parser and cookie policy. Require the expected record ID, currency, price and capture time for a price-monitoring job; reject challenges, wrong locales and missing fields. Record accepted records, retries and billed traffic; set your maximum cost per accepted record before testing.
Stop on a pilot cap, authentication failure, field mismatch or unexpected identity change. Restore the saved incumbent configuration and restart from the last accepted checkpoint. Expand only when the pilot meets your valid-record and cost thresholds; keep managed-product meters separate.
The current page shows $8/GB standard pay as you go and a displayed $4/GB coupon. Check the live checkout and coupon conditions before budgeting.
Only after defining an equivalent output and cost unit. Web Unblocker is a managed product that can render JavaScript and returns raw HTML, so it is not the same route as a residential gateway.
It is a residential route for your own client or browser. MCP terms are separate, so include your MCP client, target and volume in the workflow questions.
Run the same permitted URLs, geography, session policy, concurrency and valid-field check through each chosen route, then compare cost per valid response.
Run the targets you would send to Bright Data or Oxylabs. Get 350 MB of residential traffic with sticky sessions up to 72 hours. Keep any unused traffic for later.
