How to check regional ads with proxies

Start with Google Ads preview for Search, then record authorized regional browser checks with their route, placement, redirect, and uncertainty.

How to check regional ads with proxies

For Google Search campaigns, start with Ad Preview and Diagnosis to check the keyword, location, language, and device settings without repeatedly searching Google for the live ad. Use a proxy only for an authorized browser observation the platform preview cannot answer. A missing ad in one observation does not prove non-delivery or fraud.

Choose the observation method

Match the method to the question. A preview shows an eligible or composed creative under platform settings; a browser visit records what appeared at one authorized placement and time. Neither alone estimates how often the campaign reaches its intended audience.

Question Start with What the result supports What it does not establish
Does a Google Search ad qualify for a keyword and region? Google Ads Ad Preview and Diagnosis The platform's preview or eligibility result for selected settings Delivery at every time, device, position, or search
How do creative assets combine in a campaign preview? The platform's preview gallery A preview of possible creative combinations and supported device views A live auction impression or audience reach
What appears at an owned or explicitly authorized regional placement? A controlled browser check The placement observed with the recorded route and browser state A representative auction sample or campaign-wide delivery rate

Google recommends using Ad Preview and Diagnosis instead of repeated live searches that can add impressions without clicks. Its guidance also notes that an eligible ad may not appear in the preview under some conditions, including placement beyond the first results page or assets that do not always display. Preserve the platform's exact status and settings instead of converting one absent preview into a delivery conclusion.

Define a bounded check

Record the campaign and creative identifiers in a controlled report. Define the approved placement, requested region or network, browser profile, locale, consent and account state, planned start and end in Coordinated Universal Time (UTC), and the evidence that identifies the expected creative.

For Google Ads, location and language behavior is platform-specific. Google's documentation states that Search campaign language targeting is changing from September 2026. Confirm the settings and labels shown in the account on the test date; do not apply an older campaign-language assumption to a current preview.

Keep the following inputs fixed within a comparison:

  • Campaign, creative, keyword, and approved placement
  • Country, city, or named network requirement
  • Browser type, viewport, locale, and time zone
  • Account, consent, and cookie state
  • Start and end time for the observation window
  • Redirect and final-destination capture method

A mobile viewport does not prove that the connection uses a mobile carrier network. Record a carrier or Internet Service Provider requirement separately from the browser profile. A route check and a creative check answer different questions.

Capture the full authorized placement path

Use a platform preview when it covers the target surface. For a separate authorized browser check, keep one browser context through the redirect sequence when cookies or route continuity are part of the approved test. Record each response status and destination, the final URL, the observed creative identifier, and the time.

Do not click a live advertisement to manufacture evidence. Keep screenshots or document object model captures limited to the approved placement, remove unrelated account information, and restrict access to campaign data. A residential proxy supplies a network route; it does not force an auction, select an audience, guarantee a creative, or establish a person's location.

Use one row for every planned observation. This JavaScript Object Notation (JSON) template is a record contract, not an observed campaign result:

{
  "campaign_ref": "<CAMPAIGN_REF>",
  "creative_ref": "<EXPECTED_CREATIVE_REF>",
  "method": "<PLATFORM_PREVIEW_OR_AUTHORIZED_BROWSER_CHECK>",
  "requested_region": "<REGION_OR_NOT_REQUIRED>",
  "requested_network": "<NETWORK_OR_NOT_REQUIRED>",
  "browser_profile": "<BROWSER_AND_VIEWPORT>",
  "locale": "<LOCALE_TAG>",
  "consent_state": "<CONTROLLED_STATE_LABEL>",
  "redirects": [
    {"url": "<REDACTED_HOP>", "status": "<RESPONSE_STATUS>"}
  ],
  "final_url": "<REDACTED_FINAL_URL>",
  "observed_at": "<YYYY-MM-DDTHH:MM:SSZ>",
  "outcome": "<OBSERVED_NOT_OBSERVED_INCONCLUSIVE_OR_UNTESTED>",
  "evidence_ref": "<ACCESS_CONTROLLED_EVIDENCE_ID>",
  "reason": "<REASON_OR_EMPTY>"
}

Do not place passwords, session tokens, customer data, or private ad-account details in a shared report. Keep query values only when they are necessary and store them in restricted evidence. Playwright's network guide covers browser request and response observation; its emulation guide describes browser properties such as viewport, locale, and time zone.

Report gaps without overreading them

Observation Report status Next check
Expected creative appears with its identifier Observed under the recorded conditions Review the destination if the task includes landing-page QA
Placement loads, but the creative is absent Not observed in this check Check platform preview and campaign delivery data
Consent, login, or an access page blocks the test Inconclusive Resolve the approved test setup and record the blocking stage
Required region or network was not available Untested for that cell Obtain an approved route or retain the gap
A different creative appears Different creative observed Compare the campaign, placement, time, and creative identifiers

Keep completed, inconclusive, and untested rows in the same deadline report. Do not rerun only failures until they pass; that changes the sample and hides the original observation window. A single missing creative can reflect eligibility, inventory, consent, account state, or timing. It is not evidence of fraud by itself.

For a route mismatch, use proxy geotargeting and proxy IP and browser diagnostics. For multi-page flows, the rotation and sticky-session guide explains why route continuity must be recorded separately from browser cookies.
