STAY IF

Keep the current route

You need managed collection

Stay with Bright Data if Web Unlocker, Browser API, or its MCP server removes work your team does not want to own. Its current documentation separates tool groups and account credits from raw proxy zones, which makes the existing integration valuable when that product path is already accepted.

Coverage and compliance are part of the purchase

Bright Data lists country, state, city, and ZIP targeting, and its FAQ says residential or mobile access can require compliance review. Keep it when those controls or an approved account matter.

SWITCH IF

Change the route

Your parser already works

Start a ProxyLane test when the missing piece is a residential exit inside an HTTP client or browser you already maintain. The test keeps fetch, cookies, parsing, and retry logic visible instead of buying a managed API by accident.

Your runs arrive unevenly

Compare ProxyLane when traffic may sit between jobs. Its residential packages do not expire, so the relevant question is whether the stored balance and selected location fit your schedule after measuring the complete visit.

You need a small route decision

Use the 1 GB ProxyLane package as the smallest commercial comparison point. Bright Data's displayed coupon and Oxylabs' monthly Starter price can be lower or higher for a particular account, so record actual checkout terms before judging value.

WORKLOAD DETAILS

Check the details that matter

Name the Bright Data product first

An alternative page misleads when one side is raw bandwidth and the other is a managed response. Bright Data shows a pay-as-you-go gateway with no commitment beside Web Unlocker, Browser API, and MCP. Record the endpoint, parser output, and retry owner before pricing.

Oxylabs also separates raw residential traffic from Web Unblocker and Web Scraper API. Its pricing page shows residential from $6/GB and Web Scraper API from $49/month. These are separate allowances.

See what ProxyLane changes

ProxyLane is a residential route for your HTTP client or browser. The offer is residential traffic from $2/GB, with traffic that does not expire, country/city/ISP targeting, HTTP/SOCKS5, and rotating or sticky sessions. Your team owns extraction, retries, and browser behavior.

A ProxyLane traffic package does not include a hosted browser or managed extraction result. For MCP access, state the client, targets, and expected usage separately. Registration is free; any service fee is stated before payment.

Test the same records before moving

Use permitted URLs containing the fields your system accepts. Hold parser, headers, cookies, browser steps, concurrency, retries, and country constant. Send them through the selected Bright Data, Oxylabs, and ProxyLane routes. Count complete records and traffic.

For browser work, include assets and the full session. For managed APIs, compare returned fields and the provider's unit. Keep the incumbent when it wins a valued requirement; switch only after the same acceptance rule passes.

MIGRATION CHECKLIST

Move one useful job first

Use a reversible sample and preserve the acceptance rule that made the current route useful.

  1. 01

    Freeze the current job

Record the permitted URLs, required fields, parser version, cookie policy, concurrency, retries, country, session duration, and what counts as a completed record

  2. 02

    Match the product path

Choose Bright Data raw, Oxylabs raw or managed, and ProxyLane residential access only when each route is solving the same retrieval job

  3. 03

    Run a small sample

Use the same client and target sample; log bytes, proxy errors, retries, session changes, returned fields, and completed records for each route

  4. 04

    Approve the migration

Keep the current provider or move a bounded batch only after the replacement meets the output rule and the measured cost and service terms are acceptable

QUESTIONS TO SETTLE

Before you change providers

Is ProxyLane a Bright Data Web Unlocker replacement?

ProxyLane supplies residential proxy traffic for a client or browser you operate. Web Unlocker is a managed Bright Data product that handles more request-side access work, so compare the same output job before treating them as substitutes.

Which price should I compare with the 1 GB ProxyLane package?

Compare the selected residential gateway and its account terms. Bright Data currently displays $8/GB pay as you go with a 50% coupon, Oxylabs starts at $6/GB, and ProxyLane's 1 GB package is $6.50. Coupons, VAT, managed products, and usage rules can change the result.

Does ProxyLane include a browser or parser?

No. Bring the HTTP client, browser, cookies, parser, and retry policy that your workflow already uses. ProxyLane supplies the residential route and session choice.

Can an agent use the ProxyLane route?

Share the MCP client, target, and expected usage when registering. Residential traffic pricing and MCP service terms are separate, and any service fee is stated before payment.
