STAY IF

Keep the current route

Your workload is bursty and the balance must survive idle weeks

DataImpulse describes pay-as-you-go residential traffic that never expires and says no subscription is needed. That can matter more than a lower headline rate when the crawler runs in bursts.

The required geography is already available

The current residential page lists 195+ countries and country targeting, plus state, city, zip and ASN targeting language. Keep DataImpulse when the target is covered and the route passes the acceptance test.

The gateway matches your existing client

DataImpulse documents HTTP(S), SOCKS5, API access and IP authorization. Avoid migration work when the fetcher already handles its gateway and parser correctly.

SWITCH IF

Change the route

The target needs a location or session you cannot obtain

Verify the requested country, city, ISP or session behavior in the account. If the route is unavailable or fails the same permitted target test, compare ProxyLane's country, region, city, ZIP, ISP and ASN controls using the identical client.

You need a different package shape

DataImpulse's $1/GB entry is attractive for a small prepaid block, while ProxyLane lists 1 GB for $6.50 through 1 TB for $2,500. Choose by actual monthly volume and unused balance, without assuming either rate wins at every size.

The team wants a visible comparison before committing

Use the public package pages to establish the initial bill, then test returned fields and client work. A transparent entry price is useful only when the selected route handles the target and traffic volume you actually plan to run.

WORKLOAD DETAILS

Check the details that matter

Start with the problem in the route

The useful question is whether DataImpulse's residential gateway reaches the target with the requested country, session lifetime and response handling. Its current page lists 195+ countries, HTTP(S)/SOCKS5, rotating and sticky sessions, and state, city, zip and ASN targeting language. Check those controls against the account and target.

Webshare is a useful peer for a self-service list or bounded datacenter check. Its free 10-proxy tier is shared datacenter traffic with a 1GB/month limit, while paid rotating residential uses a monthly GB plan. ProxyLane belongs in the same raw-client comparison with residential traffic, location targeting, two protocols and two session modes.

Treat the idle balance as part of the price

DataImpulse currently lists 5 GB for $5 at $1/GB and states that traffic never expires. That suits an intermittent crawler, but the small block and the $0.80/GB 1 TB line are different purchase sizes. Use the package your schedule would buy.

ProxyLane lists residential proxies from $2/GB, with traffic that never expires. Webshare displays discounted monthly rotating rates, while its free tier is a different datacenter pool. Compare cash outlay, bytes, remaining balance and accepted records.

Test the advanced geography before moving

Choose one country and one deeper requirement, such as a city or ISP. Run the same URLs, headers, retries, timeout and parser through DataImpulse, Webshare and ProxyLane. Log exit location, sticky-session continuity and records containing required fields.

The pages describe connection options, not a universal target-success guarantee. Keep rendering, asset loading and retries identical. If the job needs a fixed IP, compare assigned addresses separately from rotating residential GB.

MIGRATION CHECKLIST

Move one useful job first

Use a reversible sample and preserve the acceptance rule that made the current route useful.

  1. 01

    Freeze the target definition

Record country, city, ISP or ASN, residential or mobile type, sticky duration, request count, response size and required fields. Mark targets needing permission or a separate API.

  2. 02

    Select comparable plan sizes

Use DataImpulse's intended GB block, Webshare's matching residential allowance and the closest ProxyLane package. Do not compare free datacenter with paid residential traffic.

  3. 03

    Run one controlled batch

Keep the HTTP client, retry policy, concurrency, URL list and parser constant. Capture exit location, session continuity, transferred GB, failed attempts and accepted records for each route.

  4. 04

    Reprice the month

Multiply measured traffic by the actual selected plan, include leftover balance and client-side handling, then repeat the calculation for an idle month. Switch only when the missing route capability or completed-output cost justifies the migration.

QUESTIONS TO SETTLE

Before you change providers

Does DataImpulse traffic expire?

The current residential page says no and presents the product as pay as you go with no subscription needed. Confirm the exact pool, account terms and any refund or usage conditions before a large purchase.

Is ProxyLane cheaper than DataImpulse?

The public entry prices are not a complete comparison. DataImpulse currently lists 5 GB for $5, while ProxyLane lists 1 GB for $6.50 and 1 TB for $2,500. Compare the package size, target, traffic used and accepted output for your job.

Can I use DataImpulse with an MCP browser?

Its official guide shows a proxy server passed to Playwright MCP and describes rotating and sticky use. That gives an MCP browser a network route; your tool still owns browser actions, retries and parsing.

When is Webshare a meaningful peer?

Use Webshare as a peer for a self-service rotating residential allowance, proxy-list workflow or count-based static requirement. Keep its free shared datacenter tier separate because its 1GB/month cap and shared pool do not represent paid residential traffic.
