alternatives

Compare 23 alternatives by the task you need to complete. Start with the constraint you need to remove: cost, browser maintenance or integration work.

WHEN TO STAY

Keep what works

  • Target-aware managed scraping where request costs can be modeled per website tier
  • Teams using Scrapy or Python that want managed browser rendering and extraction
WHEN TO RECONSIDER

Find the actual friction

  • The cheapest per-1,000 HTTP rate is only the Simple website tier; browser rendering and advanced features can cost more.
  • Live CDP browser access requires business verification plus a subscription or pay-as-you-go spending limit; the free trial alone does not enable it.

Three routes worth comparing

Scrapfly

Keep a managed extraction API

Scrapfly's Scrape API offers managed retrieval with pool, rendering and protection options, plus a separate Cloud Browser. Zyte API returns HTTP or browser content and extraction, with eligible live CDP access. Both can deliver pages, but their options and browser meters need to be matched to one task.

Before you switch

Skip this route if your application needs a reusable proxy address rather than an API response.

Firecrawl

Feed documents into an agent

Firecrawl is organized around scrape, crawl, map and search jobs that can return agent-ready page content. Zyte API starts with a target request and can return HTTP content, browser HTML or structured extraction. Choose by the shape of the job before comparing their very different usage meters.

Before you switch

Confirm the returned format and the cost of a complete crawl, not only one successful page.

DataImpulse

Own the HTTP client and parsing

DataImpulse provides prepaid raw proxy traffic with no required subscription and no stated expiry. Zyte API produces HTTP, rendered browser or extracted responses under website-tier successful-request pricing and pay-as-you-go terms. This is a stored network balance versus target-specific managed output.

Before you switch

Choose a raw proxy only if your team can maintain fetching, retries and extraction.

Build your migration shortlist

Zyte API offers pay-as-you-go without a monthly commitment and discounts at monthly commitments. Successful requests are charged according to the website tier and HTTP versus browser mode; extraction, forced residential, extended geo and some advanced actions can add usage costs. The CDP session meter is the greater of page navigations or rounded-up 15-second units at the domain's browser tier.

Write down the last issue that made you consider switching. If it was a bill, compare the minimum commitment and expiry rules for the same monthly volume. If it was incomplete data, compare a proxy connection with a managed scraping API. If it was engineering time, count the browser maintenance and parsing work you would still own after switching.

POST to https://api.zyte.com/v1/extract with the API key as Basic-auth username and request HTTP body, browser HTML or extraction; proxy mode uses api.zyte.com:8011. Eligible verified accounts can connect Playwright/Puppeteer to browser.zyte.com via CDP.

Keep one small job on the current provider while you evaluate the replacement. Preserve the same target sample and required output so you can identify what improved.
