**Enterprise from $2/GB at 5 TB+**

Non-expiring traffic, location targeting and rotating or sticky sessions for your existing tools.

 [Sign up](https://proxylane.dev/register?interest=proxies)

**ProxyLane is our best pick for small, intermittent market-research projects with an existing scraper.** Start with 350 MB for $1.95, keep unused traffic between research waves, and add parallel jobs without a concurrent-connection cap. For recurring regional tracking, shortlist Decodo or SOAX; for broader procurement, consider Bright Data or Oxylabs. Choose a managed API when you need extraction handled too.

This overview compares public terms checked on September 27, 2026. The recommendations weigh purchase commitment, traffic expiry, and workflow controls. We did not run a head-to-head provider benchmark; the separate ProxyLane IP-quality sample below is a dated checker measurement. ProxyLane publishes this comparison and sells residential proxy access; its product is included with that commercial interest disclosed. Claims and rates come from vendor pages and can change.

## Shortlist by research job

- **Best for small, intermittent projects: ProxyLane.** A $1.95 paid trial, non-expiring purchased traffic, and no concurrent-connection cap for an existing scraper.

- **Regional snapshots:** Decodo or SOAX. Check location controls and the expiry of purchased traffic or credits.

- **Other PAYG options:** IPRoyal or Decodo. Resolve unused-balance rules before leaving gaps between waves.

- **Small monthly pilot:** Webshare. Check target restrictions and bandwidth reset.

- **Broader procurement:** Oxylabs or Bright Data. Check the target list, identity verification, and minimum commitment.

- **Parsed records without maintaining a collector:** evaluate a managed scraper or web data API on its output and billing rules.

This list is intentionally bounded. We could not verify NetNut’s current official product and pricing terms on the review date, so it is omitted from the purchasing recommendations.

## ProxyLane: best for small, intermittent research projects

Choose ProxyLane when you already have a collector and run research in bursts: a competitor-price snapshot this week, an assortment check next month, or a short client study. The [paid 350 MB trial costs $1.95](https://proxylane.dev/pricing.md) , and unused purchased traffic does not expire. You can pause between studies without consuming a monthly allowance just to avoid losing it.

This is our category pick for the combination of a small initial purchase, non-expiring traffic, and room to expand an existing workflow. It is not the lowest listed per-GB rate: Decodo and Webshare have lower entry unit prices in the table. The advantage is matching spending to an irregular research schedule.

### Scale an existing collector without a connection cap

When a research deadline expands the URL list, ProxyLane supports **unlimited concurrent connections**: you can add parallel jobs without buying a higher concurrency tier. Keep your current HTTP or SOCKS5 client, use rotating IPs for independent requests, and separate sticky sessions for related steps. Larger one-time traffic packages let you increase the traffic budget as the workload grows.

That removes a provider connection cap, not every scaling bottleneck. Increase load in measured steps and watch valid records, latency, retries, and target rate limits. Location availability and your collector still determine the throughput you can achieve; unlimited connections are not a speed guarantee.

### Low measured IP risk, with a test for demanding targets

ProxyLane’s [published IP-quality sample](https://proxylane.dev/#network) checked **1,000 unique US-targeted IPs on September 24, 2026**, across four gateways using proxycheck.io. The average risk score was **9.8/100**, and **89.5% of the IPs scored 0**. That gives you a concrete quality signal to inspect before testing a target with strict anti-bot checks.

This was a ProxyLane-run sample, not an independent audit or a comparison with competing networks. The checker score primarily reflects proxy detection in this sample; it is not a measured fraud probability or proof of access through a particular site’s defenses. For demanding targets, test real pages and required fields before increasing volume. Low IP risk does not resolve browser fingerprints, challenges, or extraction errors by itself.

ProxyLane supplies residential access for your tools, not managed parsing or a validated dataset. Confirm the required locations before purchase; an offline residential device can end a sticky session early. **[Start with the $1.95 paid trial](https://proxylane.dev/register?interest=proxies&plan=trial)**, measure usable records and traffic, then expand the same setup if it meets your study’s requirements.

## Compare the bill before comparing proxy pools

Residential plans sell monthly bundles, PAYG balances, commitments, or credits. A headline rate omits minimum purchase, expiry, overage, tax, and renewal.

| Provider | Residential offer checked Sep 27, 2026 | Location and session controls stated by provider | Cost detail to watch |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Bright Data | $8/GB regular PAYG; displayed promo excluded | Country, state, city, ZIP, ASN; rotation and sticky controls | Active monthly commitment resets monthly and unused commitment does not roll over; KYC may apply |
| Oxylabs | 5 GB for $30/month; 20 GB for $100/month | Country through ZIP; sticky or rotating; HTTP(S), HTTP3, SOCKS5 | Top-up is separately listed at $8/GB; some target categories are restricted |
| Decodo | $4/GB PAYG; monthly from 3 GB/$11.25 | Country, city/state, US ZIP; rotating or sticky; HTTP(S), SOCKS5 | Monthly traffic pack differs from PAYG; confirm expiry in checkout |
| SOAX | $0 Sandbox with no included traffic; Builder $200/month with 200 credits | Country, region, city, ISP; Scale adds ASN and ZIP | Sandbox rates $5/$4/$2 per GB by egress tier; monthly credits expire after 60 days |
| IPRoyal | PAYG listed at $7.35 for 1 GB; 10 GB bundle $5.51/GB | Country, state, city; sticky up to 7 days or per-request rotation | Standard residential traffic does not expire, subject to account conditions; low custom rate needs 10 TB |
| Webshare | Monthly residential from 1 GB/$3.50; 10 GB/$27.50 | Country/city, US state/ZIP, ASN; documented automatic refresh | Monthly bandwidth resets and does not roll over; possible target restrictions/KYC |
| Novada | No clear entry offer; enterprise page shows $1.30/GB with a 3 TB package | Country/city/carrier; rotating or sticky; official pages disagree on maximum sticky time | Package lasts 30 days; unused amount carries if renewed before expiry; request a quote for entry terms |
| ProxyLane | Paid trial: 350 MB/$1.95; 1 GB/$6.50; 25 GB/$137 | Country/city/ISP/ASN/ZIP where available; HTTP/SOCKS5; sticky up to 7 days while device stays online | One-time traffic does not expire; human 24/7 support has no response-time guarantee |

Rates are vendor offers, not observed dataset costs. Bright Data displayed a promo; the table uses undiscounted PAYG. Oxylabs’ top-up is separate from its monthly plan. IPRoyal’s advertised $1.75/GB is a custom subscription rate at 10 TB; it is not the 1 GB PAYG price. SOAX credits are a rough dollar reference; usage depends on egress country and includes both directions, partial responses, retries, and interrupted connections.

Novada’s page does not expose a clear ordinary entry package in the text we could verify. Its pricing FAQ says sticky sessions last 1–30 minutes, while its developer documentation says 1–120 minutes. Get the current plan’s written limit before designing a workflow that depends on session persistence. An unstated expiry rule remains an open purchasing question.

## Provider fit, with limits

**Bright Data:** evaluate it when one supplier must cover multiple access products. Raw residential access and Web Unlocker have different billing models. The latter lists 5,000 free requests/month and $1.50 per 1,000 PAYG, but its definition of successful access is not your definition of a valid research record. Resolve identity verification before scheduling the pilot.

**Oxylabs:** a candidate for a team that can use a monthly allowance regularly. Check the target list first: its residential product restricts some financial, government, streaming, ticketing, mail, Apple, and Google domains. Top-ups are a separate, non-refundable purchase. Web Scraper API, listed from $49/month, is a different product.

**Decodo:** compare it when you want to choose between PAYG and a recurring pack without changing the collection client. Its guide documents both rotating requests and sticky sessions, plus a three-day, 100 MB trial. That allowance can test integration; it is too little evidence to establish completeness across all your markets.

**SOAX:** put it on the shortlist when the distribution of traffic between countries materially changes your budget. Rates follow the exit IP’s country, not the analyst’s or target website’s location. A low fee in one geographic tier cannot price a study in another. Sandbox requires purchased credits even though the plan fee is zero; ASN and ZIP controls require Scale or above.

**IPRoyal:** worth comparing for uneven or seasonal collection, with an account-specific caveat. Its unused residential balance normally does not expire, but retaining it may require regular top-ups or an active subscription. Read the dashboard conditions before counting on a balance being available for next season. A low custom subscription rate is not the price of a small PAYG purchase.

**Webshare:** a candidate for a small monthly allowance you expect to consume. Unused bandwidth does not roll over. Its separate free proxy offer is not a free residential trial, so do not use it to infer residential performance. The residential guide applies location filters one at a time and describes IP refresh every few hours; verify the endpoint’s actual rotation and session behavior for related steps.

**Novada:** keep it on a quote-required longlist if city/carrier targeting matches your design. Its public enterprise offer does not establish the small-buyer minimum, and its pages disagree about sticky duration. Get the package, expiry, session limit, and needed city availability in writing before budgeting. We do not assign it a “best for” position while those terms remain unresolved.

## Choose the access type before the provider

A regional pricing study, a public company-directory export, and mobile ad verification need different collection paths. Start with an official API or licensed feed when it supplies the required fields and geography. If you collect public pages, check the target’s access rules and the provider’s acceptable-use policy first.

| Access type | Research use to evaluate | Main tradeoff |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Datacenter proxy | Public pages that accept datacenter traffic | Can be sufficient without paying for residential access; verify the target mix |
| Rotating residential | Repeated observations across consumer locations | Local coverage and valid responses matter more than total pool size |
| Static ISP | Related steps needing a consistent address | Check allocation, location and renewal terms; a sticky rotating session is not a dedicated IP |
| Mobile | Research that specifically requires a mobile-network viewpoint | Do not pay for it merely because it sounds more capable; confirm the requested carrier |
| Managed API or data feed | A team buying structured records rather than operating a collector | Less control over collection details; inspect schema, freshness and billable-success rules |

The provider table focuses on residential access because regional consumer-facing pages are the main scenario here. It does not rank mobile, ISP, or datacenter networks.

## Raw proxies and managed collection solve different problems

With a raw proxy, your team chooses the URLs, handles retries and browser behavior, extracts fields, detects duplicates, and decides whether a record is valid. You pay mainly for traffic or IP access. This is useful when you already own the collection pipeline and need control over routing.

A managed scraping API can bundle proxy selection, retries, rendering, extraction, or structured delivery. Its bill may be per request, result, or credit rather than per GB. For example, Firecrawl documents one credit per basic scrape page and four additional credits for JSON extraction; enhanced proxy mode currently has the same base credit as a basic scrape. Zyte documents target/request-tier pricing. These show different cost shapes, not a price ranking against raw bandwidth.

A managed response can omit variants, misread promotional prices, or return unusable pages. Define valid-record rules before accepting output.

For either model, HTTP 200 means the server returned a response. It does not mean the response contains the requested product, correct regional assortment, current price, or parseable values. Save the raw response alongside parsed records so an analyst can diagnose a challenge page, locale redirect, empty result, or parser error. Count those outcomes in completeness and cost.

## A bounded evaluation worksheet

For an existing scraper, first eliminate providers that cannot supply your required locations or session controls. Then select two whose billing models fit your collection schedule. For a small, irregular workload, start with our category pick, **ProxyLane**, and use **Decodo PAYG** as a comparison if you want a second supplier in the pilot. Confirm ProxyLane’s location availability and Decodo’s balance expiry and minimum checkout before funding either test.

Run the same bounded workload through both, with one target and matched observation windows. Use your expected concurrent job count, representative job mix, and session-isolation rules. A serial smoke test alone cannot validate a concurrent migration. Before buying a large pool, record the following:

1. **Define the unit.** Is the product raw residential traffic, static ISP IPs, an unblocker, or a managed scraper? What exactly counts as billable traffic or a successful request?

1. **Fix the market.** Record requested country, city or ZIP, target URL, delivery market, language, currency, cookies/account state, and time. Check the exit IP and the target page’s actual market signals independently.

1. **Match the sample.** Query the same products, sellers, search terms, and time window. Keep concurrency, collection rules, and the retry cap identical; give independent sticky workflows distinct session identifiers. Don’t interpret a city-targeted IP as proof the page was served for that city.

1. **Keep failures visible.** Store HTTP status, final URL, raw response, parser result, retry count, and missing fields. A challenge page and a valid page with no price are different outcomes.

1. **Score research records.** Measure expected entities found, valid required fields, duplicate rate, stale or mismatched market records, and missingness by geography. Report denominators for each market; a high overall record count can hide a failed region.

1. **Estimate total cost.** Include traffic or request charges, minimum purchase, unused expiring credit, retries, browser rendering, engineering, validation, and analyst time. Add VAT or payment fees where applicable.

1. **Set a stop rule.** Expand only if the pilot reaches the minimum required valid-record coverage in every market and stays inside the budget. If a supplier cannot state a needed billing or session term, keep it as an open procurement question.

A short pilot can show whether your integration and target mix are viable. It cannot guarantee future sample quality.

## Worked example: budget per valid record

Consider a **hypothetical** pilot: 50 products in each of four markets, or 200 product-market pairs. Allow one retry per pair, at most 400 requests, a $20 proxy/API spend cap, and a two-hour collection window. Require at least 45 valid records out of 50 in **every** market. These are example acceptance rules, not a recommended universal threshold or a measured vendor result.

Suppose two anonymous collection options produce the following invented results. “Cash paid” includes the minimum purchase; unused balance is tracked separately so it is not counted twice.

| Planning metric | Option A | Option B |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Cash paid for the pilot | $12 | $18 |
| Valid records by market | 50 / 49 / 48 / 33 | 48 / 48 / 47 / 47 |
| Total valid records | 180 of 200 | 190 of 200 |
| Pilot cash per valid record | $12 ÷ 180 = $0.067 | $18 ÷ 190 = $0.095 |
| Meets the per-market floor? | No: fourth market has 33 | Yes: every market has at least 45 |

Option A looks cheaper per accepted record, but fails the research design. Option B passes this illustrative coverage test; it still needs repeatability and data-quality checks before expansion. Neither option represents a provider in this article.

For your own pilot, keep the cash required to start separate from consumed-credit cost. Add engineer and analyst hours at your own internal rates. Report remaining credit and expiry. A $20 traffic experiment can still consume a day of staff time; none of the listed bandwidth prices includes that work.

## Missingness and regional comparability

Comparable research holds collection conditions steady. Exit country is only one input: targets may localize by delivery address, account, cookies, browser language, currency, store, or saved preferences. Record these and verify displayed market, currency, availability, and delivery terms.

Report missing products and fields by region with a denominator such as “valid prices / requested product-market pairs.” Separate blocks, redirects, duplicates, out-of-stock items, and parse failures. Missing regional data means coverage is unknown or incomplete; it does not prove no product or price exists.

The existing [market-research methodology guide](https://proxylane.dev/blog/proxies-for-market-research) explains how to plan an auditable public-data sample. Use this comparison to shortlist a collection path, then apply the same validation rules regardless of supplier.
