BUYER DECISION

## Three routes side by side

Hold the workload constant and compare the decision field that can change your bill or your team's work.

| Decision field | Storm Proxies | Webshare | ProxyLane |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Displayed entry | Storm Proxies Linked one-port option: $19/month. Five ports: $50/month; 10: $90; 20: $160; 50: $300. The stated 24-hour refund applies to five ports | Webshare Free tier lists 10 shared datacenter proxies with 1 GB/month; rotating residential starts at a displayed $3.50 for 1 GB | ProxyLane ProxyLane lists $6.50 for 1 GB, $390 for 100 GB and $2.50/GB at 1 TB |
| Bandwidth and capacity | Storm Proxies Residential page states unlimited bandwidth; the plan count is ports and each plan lists one access IP | Webshare Free and paid limits depend on product; residential is selected by monthly GB | ProxyLane Traffic is purchased by GB; confirm needed concurrency for the workflow |
| Geography | Storm Proxies USA, EU or a mix; support page says exact country or city choice is unavailable | Webshare Product and plan determine location and pool; verify the target location at checkout | ProxyLane Country, city and ISP targeting is part of the residential offer |
| Rotation and auth | Storm Proxies Residential IPs rotate every five minutes; IP authentication with one authorized access IP | Webshare Proxy-list/API access with username or source-IP authorization; product rotation varies | ProxyLane Rotating or sticky sessions with workflow credentials |
| Protocols | Storm Proxies Residential page documents HTTP(S); no SOCKS5 claim is used here | Webshare Proxy products expose the protocol supported by the selected plan and endpoint | ProxyLane HTTP/SOCKS5 are included in the residential offer |

STAY IF

## Keep the current route

### Keep Storm for a small gateway

Stay when one authorized source IP, USA/EU coverage and five-minute residential rotation solve the job without city targeting or a SOCKS5 requirement.

### Keep its predictable port model

A monthly gateway-port package can suit regular traffic without GB metering. Choose the number of gateway ports you need, then verify simultaneous-connection capacity independently.

SWITCH IF

## Change the route

### Switch for protocol or geo

Test ProxyLane when country, city or ISP targeting and HTTP/SOCKS5 matter, or Webshare when a proxy-list/API workflow or a separate datacenter test is the priority.

### Switch after a limit check

Do not treat unlimited bandwidth as proof of unlimited threads. Match active connections, rotation, target region and authorization before moving the workload.

WORKLOAD DETAILS

## Check the details that matter

Storm is deliberately narrow

Storm Proxies' residential page specifies five-minute rotation, unlimited bandwidth and USA/EU coverage. It links a one-port package at $19/month alongside five ports for $50, 10 for $90, 20 for $160 and 50 for $300. Each package permits one authorized access IP. Its refund wording specifically names the five-port plan for the 24-hour money-back guarantee; do not assume the linked one-port option inherits that guarantee.

Those details are a reason to stay when they match the buyer's environment. The same page documents IP authentication and HTTP(S), while the country support answer says exact country or city selection is unavailable. Unlimited bandwidth therefore should be read alongside port count, one access IP, geography and protocol. Port count describes supplied gateway access, not an independently verified simultaneous-connection ceiling. The general setup guide's other rotation modes do not override this residential SKU's five-minute specification.

Webshare and ProxyLane widen the choice

Webshare has a free shared datacenter tier with 10 proxies and 1 GB/month, plus paid datacenter, static residential and rotating residential products. Its rotating residential display starts at a 1 GB monthly plan shown at $3.50 under a promotion. The free tier is a connectivity experiment, not a substitute for paid residential traffic; keep product type explicit in the matrix.

ProxyLane is the third route for a residential buyer who needs country, city or ISP targeting, HTTP/SOCKS5 and rotating or sticky sessions. Its current offer lists $6.50 for 1 GB, $390 for 100 GB and $2.50/GB at 1 TB, with no expiry. That gives a different billing and targeting shape, not a fabricated promise of identical unlimited capacity.

Test the constraint that caused the search

Write down target, region, protocol, authorized source IP, five-minute residential rotation, required active connections and page-asset policy. Run the same request mix through the Storm gateway, the selected Webshare product and ProxyLane. Record business response, rotation behavior, challenge rate, connection errors, traffic consumed and setup time. If the job needs city or ISP choice, make that a pass condition rather than an afterthought.

Keep Storm when its fixed port plan and rotation pass. Choose Webshare for the verified product and list-management path that fits the client. Choose ProxyLane when its no-expiry traffic, targeting and protocol support pass the same workload test. A team can retain Storm for the narrow task it serves well while routing a different task elsewhere.

MIGRATION CHECKLIST

## Move one useful job first

Use a reversible sample and preserve the acceptance rule that made the current route useful.

1. 01

### Record the constraint

Name target, region, protocol and source IP; check that five-minute rotation fits and verify required simultaneous connections separately from port count.

1. 02

### Select like products

Compare Storm residential with Webshare residential and ProxyLane residential; keep datacenter tests separate.

1. 03

### Run the same mix

Hold client, headers, timeout, retries, target and asset policy constant across the three routes.

1. 04

### Move by pass criteria

Keep Storm or adopt Webshare or ProxyLane only where the recorded constraints and outcome pass.

QUESTIONS TO SETTLE

## Before you change providers

Does Storm unlimited bandwidth mean unlimited concurrency?

No. Unlimited bandwidth removes the GB meter. Packages provide gateway ports and one access IP; port count alone is not a verified simultaneous-connection ceiling. Test the required concurrency.

Can Storm target an exact city?

Its support answer says USA, EU or a mix are available and exact country or city selection is unavailable.

Does the Storm residential page document SOCKS5?

The current residential materials reviewed document HTTP(S) and IP authentication. Do not assume SOCKS5 without confirmation for the selected SKU.

Why test ProxyLane here?

ProxyLane adds country/city/ISP targeting, HTTP/SOCKS5, rotating or sticky sessions and no-expiry residential traffic. Verify the exact workload before moving.
