FIND A BETTER FIT

Compare 23 alternatives by the task you need to complete. Start with the constraint you need to remove: cost, browser maintenance or integration work.

WHEN TO STAY

## Keep what works

- Existing HTTP scrapers that need managed proxy rotation and retries

- Agents that need a hosted MCP route for scraping and structured-data tools

WHEN TO RECONSIDER

## Find the actual friction

- Premium proxies, rendering, screenshots and ultra-premium requests consume multiple API credits, so request count is not the same as credit count.

- The remote MCP requires a bearer API key in client headers; a local Python/Docker setup requires its own running process and key configuration.

START WITH THE CHANGE YOU NEED

## Three routes worth comparing

### Scrapfly

  Keep a managed extraction API

ScraperAPI and Scrapfly both sell managed scraping calls and document MCP, yet they meter options differently. ScraperAPI uses API credits that can multiply for premium routes or rendering. Scrapfly charges credits according to proxy pool, rendering, protection and response size, with a separate Cloud Browser branch.

**Before you switch**

Skip this route if your application needs a reusable proxy address rather than an API response.

### Firecrawl

  Feed documents into an agent

Firecrawl combines scrape, crawl, search and browser Interact in one credit balance; ScraperAPI focuses on managed URL requests with premium routing, rendering and official MCP tools under API credits. Both have hosted/local agent paths, but one can perform a broader site-discovery workflow.

**Before you switch**

Confirm the returned format and the cost of a complete crawl, not only one successful page.

### DataImpulse

Own the HTTP client and parsing

DataImpulse's purchased proxy GB is described as non-expiring; ScraperAPI's managed scrape requests consume monthly credits, multiplied by premium routing or rendering. ScraperAPI's official MCP makes agent integration direct, while DataImpulse's gateway sits inside a tool you operate. An intermittent URL batch exposes the difference.

**Before you switch**

Choose a raw proxy only if your team can maintain fetching, retries and extraction.

## Build your migration shortlist

Monthly credit plans; base requests consume credits and premium routing or rendering can multiply the per-request credit cost. The documentation says 200 and 404 responses and client-cancelled requests may be charged. Free plan offers 1,000 monthly credits and a larger first-week trial; paid plans change concurrent threads and geographic access.

Write down the last issue that made you consider switching. If it was a bill, compare the minimum commitment and expiry rules for the same monthly volume. If it was incomplete data, compare a proxy connection with a managed scraping API. If it was engineering time, count the browser maintenance and parsing work you would still own after switching.

Pass an API key and target URL to the ScraperAPI endpoint or configure proxy mode for an existing client. For agents, connect the hosted MCP with a bearer header or run the documented local Python/Docker server with a server-side key.

Keep one small job on the current provider while you evaluate the replacement. Preserve the same target sample and required output so you can identify what improved.
