Separate threads from gigabytes

Proxyrack's official pricing page displays 100 GB for $110/month, 200 GB for $180 and 500 GB for $425. Its separate help article says unlimited residential is priced per thread with random and sticky ports, while private residential is priced by port and is sticky-only. Those products can suit different bottlenecks, so the first question is whether your workload is constrained by traffic or simultaneous identities.

DataImpulse's official residential material lists an Intro block of $5 for 5 GB, with traffic stated not to expire. ProxyLane lists $6.50 for 1 GB, $390 for 100 GB and $2.50/GB at 1 TB, also with no expiry. Compare these numbers as package inputs, not proof of equal pool quality or target success.

 

Use a transparent break-even

For a continuous traffic tariff, cost is dollars per GB multiplied by GB. For a prepaid block, cost is the block price multiplied by the number of blocks required, rounded up; never multiply a package total by GB. Proxyrack's Unlimited Residential Build Your Own display is $300/month at $3/thread, implying 100 threads in that displayed configuration. First establish whether 100 concurrent connections cover the job; a larger requirement needs a different quote.

Hypothetical monthly crossover: assume no starting balance, a workload within those 100 threads, and repeat purchases of DataImpulse's $5/5 GB Intro block at unchanged terms. Its modeled purchase cost is $5 × ceil(GB/5), with a $5 minimum for positive usage. At 295 GB it costs $295; above 295 through 300 GB it costs $300; at 301 GB it costs $305. Thus purchase totals tie above 295 GB through 300 GB and the $300 unlimited plan becomes cheaper above 300 GB under these assumptions. The continuous $1/GB approximation crosses at 300 GB. Repeat block availability and rate are assumptions, not a confirmed bulk quote. Compare the same month, account for non-expiring leftover GB, and recalculate if a volume tier applies.

This is a cost model, not a performance benchmark. Purchased connection capacity does not establish achieved throughput: measure useful responses per second, latency and session continuity on the target. Sticky ports do not establish permanent identities. Sub-users organize account access; reseller permission and commercial resale terms were not verified in the reviewed sources.

 

Test the bottleneck you are buying

Run the same target with a declared concurrency, session policy, geo, protocol, timeout and retry rule. Track successful business responses, session continuity, consumed GB, active identities and operator time. If the job uses UDP or a managed client feature, include that in the acceptance test rather than comparing only HTTP fetches.

Keep Proxyrack when thread or port capacity solves the real bottleneck. Choose DataImpulse when a non-expiring GB balance and smaller prepaid block fit. Choose ProxyLane when its no-expiry GB ladder and country, city or ISP targeting pass the same workload test. The decision can differ by target and traffic pattern.
